In Support of Bloomington Hospital

Since 1997, the Foundation has provided more than $7 million to Bloomington Hospital in support of services, programs and equipment.  Thousands in south central Indiana benefit from our community's philanthropic support of our hospital.

Founded more than 100 years ago, Bloomington Hospital has grown from a small 10 room house to a sophisticated regional referral center serving a patient base of nearly 370,000 in nine south central Indiana counties.  As a not-for-profit organization, Bloomington Hospital relies on the support of its community to continue to provide advanced medical care with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

Bloomington Hospital cares for all in its community, regardless of ability to pay, with care ranging from emergency services to primary care, cardiovascular care to cancer treatment, and women's and children's services to orthopedics.  When you give to the Bloomington Hospital Foundation, your gift helps further advance medical care at Bloomington Hospital and enhances the health of our community.

Grants for Bloomington Hospital

Since 2005, the Bloomington Hospital Foundation has employed a full-time Manager of Grant Research and Development. During this time, the Manager has written over $1,000,000 in grants to external funding sources and nearly $400,000 has been approved. These grant dollars go directly to improve the quality of care for Bloomington Hospital patients and the health and well-being of our community as a whole. Some recent grant-funded projects examples include the development of a premature infant prevent program through Home Health & Hospice, state-of-the-art equipment for the Children's Therapy Clinic, and an Electronic Health Records pilot project to build community awareness around the benefits of health information exchange.
